How to Clean Commercial Bathrooms with the Right Grout Products

Whether it’s a restaurant, park, hotel, office, or bar, a commercial bathroom gets dirty. When entering a public bathroom, it can be baffling to wonder how they got so dirty in the first place. Well, likely, these bathrooms are not being cleaned with the right cleaners. Sure, soap and a mop can wipe up spills and other messes, but they aren’t necessarily lifting up deep stains or discolorations, which can keep tile and grout looking dirty even if you just cleaned it.

Dirty bathrooms can be a problem, especially if customers or workers start to complain. You don’t want people to report your establishment or stop visiting/working with you because of your bathrooms’ dirty appearance.

The main reason your bathroom floors look filthy is the grout. Grout becomes discolored. It can even smell since it is holding on to all bacteria and other germs. Even if your staff or cleaning crew cleans the floor daily, dirty grout can keep the floor looking dirty. If you neglect the grout lines, your bathroom’s appearance will look unclean.

You want to use Grout Shield’s Grout & Tile Deep Cleaner, which cleans and lifts deep stains out of the grout’s pores. To use this cleaner, you mix 1 ounce of the cleaner with 8 ounces of warm water. Then, brush the cleaner into the grout with a brush applicator. Let the mixture sit into the grout lines for a few minutes. Then, wipe away the cleaner with a sponge and towel dry the floor. The discoloration will be gone.

Now, if the stain still won’t fully go away, you can make the color look like new again with Grout Shield’s color sealer. You just squeeze the sealer into the grout lines. Then, spread it into the grout lines with a brush applicator and wipe away the excess with a towel or chamois.

If you don’t need to recolor your grout, you should seal it to protect it from future stains. Grout Shield also offers clear grout sealer.

How to Keep Your Commercial Tile and Grout Clean

Residential homes aren’t the only places with tile flooring. Hotels. Restaurants. Museums. Bars. Stores. Tile flooring is company and it can be easy to clean and maintain, but it is also hard to keep looking brand new. Tile can get dull. Grout lines can darken. Your tile and grout may be clean, but they don’t look it. Years of dirt and grime can slowly darken the colors making your flooring look old and dirty even if it’s not.

Here are some tips to help your commercial tile and grout looking better and newer all throughout the year.

  • Clean up any messes fast – the longer the mess is there, the more the tile and grout will stain. Messes happen, but they need to be cleaned ASAP to prevent lasting stains or discoloration.
  • Choose high-quality tile.
  • Seal your grout. Sealing grout will prevent future stains. Grout Shield has two grout sealing products: Grout Shield Color Sealer and Grout Shield Clear Sealer . With the color sealer, you can help brighten or change the color of the grout, especially if the grout is too badly stained. The clear sealer is great if you like the grout color or it doesn’t need a color refresh. These grout sealers are easy to apply. Unsealed and dirty grout can make your tile look worse.
  • Clean your tile and grout regularly. People are walking on the floors. Spills happen. Objects get dragged on the floor. There’s so many things on a daily basis making your tile and grout dirty, so you need to clean them with a quality grout and tile cleaner.
